Staying safe on TillTom

A few honest pointers. TillTom is a light, temporary chat — not a verified or moderated space.

Your nickname isn’t an identity

A nickname is mandatory but not verified. It’s just a label so you can tell chats apart. Don’t put your real name or anything private in it.

Assume what you send can be saved

The other person can screenshot, copy, or photograph what you send. Share only what you’re comfortable with. Sharing contact details is optional — do it only if you want to.

Treat typed details and links with care

Contact details someone types may not be genuine, and links are not checked by TillTom. Treat unexpected links cautiously; they aren’t verified or made clickable.

The QR effectively contains the key

The QR code carries the chat’s key in its link. Anyone who photographs or sees the QR could read the chat. Show it only to the person you’re chatting with, and don’t share it as an image.

If you’re uncomfortable, end the chat

End the chat any time. Ending closes it for both people and turns off messaging. There’s no moderation review or reporting in this version — ending the chat is the tool. Removing a chat from your device only clears it locally and doesn’t affect the other person.

What TillTom doesn’t do

It doesn’t verify real identity or contact ownership, and it doesn’t provide report review or follow-up.
